"One of the most distressing of my entire life"

About: Watford General Hospital

What I liked

Nothing

What could be improved

My father (88) spent just over a week in the hospital during which time he was:

1, left calling for help in a toilet whilst 2 nurses chatted nearby

2, after pulling his drip out was left sitting in a chair in a pool of his own blood (I mopped it up and stemmed the flow with tissues) for 50 (fifty) minutes before his wound was dressed

3, was left in a chair with faeces all over his hands after a supervised visit to the toilet (my partner cleaned him up when we visited)

4, Had an appointment for a brain scan made for him at a hospital 20 miles away - and notification was sent to his home (whilst he was in a bed in WGH)

There is more to this list than I've written above and I have documentary/witness evidence to substantiate it. I haven't made an official complaint as, quite frankly, there's probably no point. Sadly there's no reason for the above faults, the ward (s) seemed adequately staffed - these are "no cost" problems that could be resolved with care, compassion, and consideration. Seeing my dad in Watford general hospital was a harrowing experience. He has since died in a hospice where the care was exemplary.
