"I would rather not be admitted again, but if I am..."

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

What I liked

Friendly, caring and professional staff who clearly worked as a team, and the feeling that the right/best equipment was to hand and everyone knew what they were doing, and were leaving nothing to chance at a frightening and anxious time.

What could be improved

Transfer from the acute ward to the general ward initially made me feel anxious, but that was dispelled once settled in. Perhaps some explanation and reassurance on transfer would have helped.

Anything else?

I was new to this experience. The wards were clean, all staff were genuinely concerned and reassuring despite being clearly very busy, the food was good, and my overall impression of the NHS, particularly for acute care, was excellent.
