"The worst bunch of Midwives I have ever known"

About: Ashcroft Surgery

The Wrose Midwives based at this surgery are the worst bunch of midwives I have ever met, especially the midwife. She was unhelpful and extremely impoilte.

We had an appointment at Westcliffe Medical Centre and our appointment was at 10:40 and we arrived and checked in succesfully at 10:44am., the system showed that there were a total of 4 appointments before ours.

Around 10:48am the midwife came out with her student midwife and walked straight out of the building, she did not say goodbye to the receptionist and did not check the system to see that we had arrived.

I spoke to the receptionist who said that the midwife had forgotten to bring her smartcard so could not log onto the system and was dealing with patients by asking the receptionists if we had arrived. The receptionist we were speaking to firmly advised us that the midwife did not ask her if we had arrived. This is totally unacceptable. I am 36 weeks pregnant and needed to see a Midwife.

I had to ring the Maternity Assessment to get a Midwife appointment with them. They very helpfully said that they can see me that same day.

In addition I am now being told that I have an appointment at Heaton Medical Centre with the midwife, only to be told later that this is incorrect and that the Wrose Midwives do not do appointments there. On top of this, the letter provided to me had their contact number but it was the number to their fax machine.

I am absolutely disgusted and outraged by the lack of care I am receiving from the Midwives and strongly do not recommend this practice because of their Midwifery unit.
