"Very un professionl staff at Leigh Xray department"

About: Leigh Infirmary

Today I have an Appointment at Thomas Linacre Centre Wigan for a breast scan. I called the Hospital to check my appointment time as I had mis laid my letter. The receptionist was not able to view my appointment as she didn't have the access. I was put through to Leigh Xray department as she said they can view all appointments and would be able to help me. I spoke to a receptionist and explained the situation, and asked if she could please help me. She told me she wouldn't be a minute. She didn't ask my name or any details, and put me down. I waited approx 15-20 minutes before someone came back on the phone. In the time I was waiting I could hear all the conversations between the staff. I found this really un proffesional and un pleasant.I was about to hang up, when one of them asked if someone was on the line and they said to each other they didn't know who was on the line.. I had obviously been forgotten about. A receptionist came on the line I told her this really was not nice, as I had been waiting all this time and had been forgotten about. At this point I was too upset to talk and hung up.This is a really stressful and upsetting experience for me, having to go for this scan, but to be treated so ignorantly just tops it off. The receptionist are the most rudest I have ever known. They really ought to be fully re-trained.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I was sorry to learn of your experience as it is not what we would expect for the people who use our services. I will forward this to the Manager of Radiology Services so he can share with the staff for reflection and learning. Kind regards
