What I liked
I'd like to say what an excellent service I received within the Gynecology Department here.
I recently had an operation to drain a very large ovarian cyst which I was incredibly nervous about as this was my first surgery. From the moment I arrived on the ward on the morning of my surgery, I was put completely at ease by the nurses on ward 3E, and my surgeon and anesthetist. Upon being told I was ready for surgery, a student nurse from the ward walked me down to theatre, and, as I was extremely nervous, the nurse waiting with me and held my hand as I was put to sleep, this was incredibly comforting. Upon waking up from surgery, and being taken back to the ward, I felt incredibly looked after, and was offered a cup of tea, a big jug of water and a sandwich. I was only on the ward for a few more hours after surgery before being allowed home, but I was thoroughly impressed with the standard of care that I received.
I would also like to thank the amazing surgeon who carried out my operation, he knew I was very nervous and his relaxed manner and friendly attitude really helped me feel re-assured everything would be okay.
"The standard of care that I received was excellent..."
