About: Burnley General Hospital

What I liked

Level 2 where I gave birth in the birth suite was excellent very clean and staff where great and they helped me out with my newborn as I had a blood transfusion and couldnt do it myself and my partner had to leave coz of visiting times. But then I got moved to level 1 and thats were it all went wrong

What could be improved

Level 1 was a disgrace. Im outraged at the way I was treated and the ward I were on and the staff that did absolutely nothing to help me for example my baby would not latch on straight away and I asked for help and I got the reply " well I wont be here forever" and walked off. I went for a shower to find it were a wet room and there was blood everywhere from the previous person I couldnt bare to wash so had to stay in hospital stinking for 3 days after labour and stitches which say you have to wash evryday. I was also asked if I had other children and when replied no she said good as they would not be allowed in but the woman across from me had 4 children round her bed popping balloons as my baby of 2 days tried to sleep. My family turned up to see my baby but were then told I were only allowed 2 which includes my partner so my family had to drive all the way back home about half hour car ride. I didnt see my own mum for 3 days as of visiting rules but the lady in next bed had 6 visitors every visiting times. Can not even explain the noise going on about 5am with sleeping babies its disgraceful my son was nakered. Ended up having to discharge ourselves as me and my child had had no sleep for days and the staff were just dam right rude. 2 other couples discharged themselves on same day saying they would never go back. Something needs to be down about this like opening blackburn back up or something. I wouldnt recommend to my worst enenemy.

Anything else?

Level 2 were great
