"Referral and Treatment Timescales"

About: Arran Resource Centre

(as a service user),

My GP submitted a referral for mental health treatment in September 2017.

Going by the timescales of 18 weeks I expected that by now I would have begun some sort of treatment. However, I am still waiting on treatment and for my assessment to be completed and my next assessment appointment isn't until mid May. This takes the timescale to 34 weeks so far and that is not necessarily the start of treatment either.

In the last assessment appointment I attended I was told the interdisciplinary meeting had not gone ahead and that I was no further forward. I had been advised to bring a symptom list which was not looked at whatsoever, despite my mentioning it throughout the appointment.

I am feeling very disappointed and let down again. I don't know when my treatment will start or what that treatment might be. I have lost trust as the timescales are wildly off and this is not the first time. I am also concerned that I may simply be put into another team's waiting list and have to restart the process of waiting yet again.
