What I liked
I liked the way the doctor on duty in the A&E resus department on 1.7.11 treat my elderly mother, they were so calm, patient and polite with all of us and kept us informed, they were a credit to the trust along with their team.
The paramedic and ambulance crew who were in attendance were also brilliant with my mum, two of them called back during the night to check to see how she was doing, and that made such a difference.
What could be improved
Discharged from ward - more notice for the family would have been appreciated - we had conflicting information.
Anything else?
my mum was in a mixed sex area whilst in the AAU but it's not something I worried about because her health was more important at the time.
I personally don't like seeing staff texting in ward environments - it might be a break but, but I might not be? I think it gives a bad impression, especially when you see members of the public looking for assistance
