About: Womens Medium Secure (Northampton) / Stowe

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been here 31/2 year, I have seen myself get better it is up & down. The staff are good - by talking with us, having a good attitude. I would recommend St Andrew's as a hospital .

I would really like to get more leave especially unescorted - I feel that it would be great to have unescorted leave.

The night staff tend to be less experienced, therefore there are not many people to talk to.

The physical Health side of things has improved dramatically over the past 18 months. Nurses are more available to visit you from the physical health team.

The psychology sessions are really helpful to me. This will get me to the right stage, hopefully low secure.

Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us. It's great to hear that feel that you have seen yourself getting better in your time on Stowe Ward and it's also really good to hear that you feel that the staff have helped you do this by having a good attitude.

I am sure that you will soon get there with your unescorted leave and this is something that I would encourage you to discuss with your Care Coordinator and the MDT on your ward.

I am glad that you feel the physical health provision has improved dramatically and this is something that we have been working on so it is good to hear that this has had a positive effect.

Keep up the good work and I am sure you will be considered for a lower level of security very soon.
