"A&E triage"

About: Birmingham Midland Eye Centre (Bmec)

(as the patient),

I was referred by my GP as he thought I had a foreign body in my eye which was causing it to be red, watery and sore. I was seen in Eye Casualty by the triage nurse first who had a very superficial look with a pen torch from their pocket and told me there was nothing there. They made me feel stupid for coming in to A&E and made me feel like I was wasting NHS time.

Begrudgingly they offered me an afternoon appointment with the doctor only after I persisted that I was sure there was something there.

Lo and behold, a tiny piece of grit was was removed by the fantastic doctor who also prescribed an antibiotic eye cream.
