What I liked

I had day surgery on veins in my right leg, the consultant and team were lovely and I felt really comfortable talking to them. My surgery was done under local anaestetic but we chatted all the way through, and the assistant and consultant kept checking I was comfortable and felt okay during the procedure, during which I was on an angled table. I came out smiling and am now recovering well.

What could be improved

Nothing, I was originally first on the list but was bumped to second due to greater needs of another patient. Was kept informed throughout so really pleased.

Anything else?

I would strongly recommend using the day surgery unit and especially this consultant and team. I've been to heartlands several times for myself or greater family in the past decade and feel its come on leaps and bounds in the past 5 years.
