"Truly a home from home"

CHAS's Rachel House provides us with family breaks because my son is classed as having a 'life limiting' condition. The care and support the staff provide for the whole family is incredible. Rachel House is the only place we can have a relaxing break as a family - taking any kind of holiday elsewhere would either mean leaving my son in respite care (so we wouldn't be a family) or making incredibly complicated and stressful arrangements to ensure he is safe and can access the transport and accommodation. At Rachel House my son is cared for and all his medical needs are taken care of so that we can enjoy time with him as parents and siblings. This weekend, we have taken a trip to a safari park, my son has been swimming (something we can rarely do), I have been treated to a massage, my husband and I went out for a drink while a volunteer babysitter looked after our two daughters, we have had all our meals cooked, and there is an endless supply of craft activities, not to mention tea, coffee and cake. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and volunteers. We all look forward to our breaks at Rachel House - it is truly a home from home. Thank you so much.
