"Ortho surgical physio"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

Total knee replacement operation.   Admitted Monday ,  operated Monday,   Discharged Friday.

So much bad press re NHS Ayr Hospital,  credit where credit due.   I have had the pleasure of seeing an efficient and caring service.   All staff,  from Porters to Doctors and Housekeeping to Nurses and Physio  treated me with respect and helped me through a difficult period.  This has helped me prepare for my recuperation at home.

I found Station 11 and all associated services first class.     Nothing was too much bother for them, despite being obviously understaffed.  The nurses did not make you feel their time was rationed.  The Physio did an amazing job getting everyone back on their feet and confident with their exercises. The tips given have helped me already.   Thank you.

Dear Jay170

Thank you for your lovely words regarding your recent experience within our services.

It is always great to receive feedback, good or bad, so that we can continue to do the things we are doing well or make improvements in the areas that we may not be doing so well in.

I have fed back your comments to the teams you have mentioned in your feedback. I hope you continue to make a good recovery.

John Swiatczak-Steele. Assistant Director of Acute Services for University Hospital Ayr
