What I liked
We found out during my pregnancy that our baby girl had Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung which is a rare condition where the lung tissue is replaced by cysts preventing healthy lung tissue from growing. We were sent to kings as they were the best hospital equipped to look after us and had the relevant specialists and equipment to monitor and manage our baby's condition. I felt comforted knowing that these people were the best in their field and they had the knowledge to explain and help us understand what we were dealing with. Kings is at the top of it's game when it comes to foetal medicine and we were incredibly lucky to have been looked after by them.
What could be improved
Sometimes there was a long wait to be seen but this is because they deal with specialist cases where you can't put a limit on the time needed with each patient. The old lift to the childrens ward breaks quite a lot which is hard work going up the stairs with the pram.
Anything else?
If you are lucky enough to be referred to the Harris birthright centre or Phillip Isaac ward then you can be rest assured that they will receive quality care.
