"Excellent"

Our mother, now 87, is blind, almost deaf and increasingly frail. All the staff at this hard-pressed centre are good, but last week one particular doctor took time from their own hectic schedule to ensure that mum could be examined at the surgery after hours, to avoid a hospital visit if possible. (Such visits are distressing to mum because she doesn't know what is happening around her).

Her test results were processed swiftly and an NHS doctor actually called in person in the early hours of the morning with the results! Immediate blood transfusion was required, so she did have to go to Northwick Park Hospital, and in fact is still there, awaiting more tests and treatment.

But for those who say the NHS is broken, here is an example of swift and considerate action taken by the doctor, results processed quickly and mum receiving the treatment she needs, all in the space of a few days. Thanks to you all, and especially that doctor at Stanley Corner. Excellent work!
