"Still waiting for my prescription"

About: West London NHS Trust / Primary care mental health

(as a service user),

After waiting 2 weeks I was given an appointment and on the thay I attended my appointment. First of all the floor I was attended did not have any reception and was empty, I did not know if I am it the right place or not. Waiting anxiously and with 10 minutes delay, the nurse came out of one of rooms and invited me to their room. They did not know my case and in front of me started reading the letter from my GP. After an interview the outcome was that they need to consult with the team doctor to add some medication to my treatment regime. They told me they were going to call me the next day and inform me that either I need to come back to collect prescription or they would ask my GP to prescribe. In my surprise they did not call the next day or any day after. I tried to contact them in the number provided on the top of the appointment letter, but there was no answer. I left a text message and nothing happened, after a month waiting still there is no contact what so ever. I informed my GP and they said keep trying!!!

Dear allen640

I am sorry to hear that you've had a difficult experience with the service. It is unacceptable that you've had to contact the service on several occasions to find out about your care and are still awaiting a response.

However, you mentioned that you were seen by a nurse and your matter related to changes to prescribed medication, which makes me think that your feedback is intended for another service; Hounslow IAPT service does not employ nurses or medical doctors so we do not prescribe medication.

I suggest you contact PALS ( Patient Advice and Liaison Service) and mention the name of the service to ensure that your feedback is sent to the correct service. PALS can also help you to communicate with the service about your ongoing care.

If you are being seen by a service provided by West London Mental Health Trust then the PALS details are as follows:

Call: 0800 064 3330

Email: pals@wlmht.nhs.uk

I hope the information above is helpful and your situation is resolved very soon.

Best wishes,

Annabelle
