"Excellent Nurses, Receptionist with a..."

About: Bensham Hospital

What I liked

The nurses were extremely friendly and helped with my medical issue.

What could be improved

Unfortunately the treatment received from the receptionist was terrible, I have never encountered anyone as unfriendly, which I find particularly disturbing, it made me feel very uncomfortable.

Thank you for providing feedback on Bensham Hospital and the services we provide alongside our colleagues from Gateshead Primary Care Trust.

I am pleased you found the nursing staff and occupational therapists to be friendly and helpful and that you are happy to recommend the hospital to others. I will pass on your positive comments to the hospital staff and the staff from Gateshead Primary Care Trust

I am concerned about the issues you have raised regarding the receptionist you encountered on your visit. As the occupational therapy department does not have a reception area, I can only assume you are referring to another reception area within the hospital.

We take any negative feedback seriously and we use comments such as yours to remind our staff of the importance of customer care. However, in order for us to fully investigate the issues you have mentioned and identify the reception area in question we would need you to raise this with us directly. If you would like to do this please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0800 953 0667.

Ian Renwick.

Chief Executive of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
