My daughter is currently in William Gilliatt maternity ward at the moment and I am very surprised and shocked about the very low level of care she is receiving. She is under the Ruskin midwifes for health needs, wecwascexplained that we would not have to bring our own milk in and that someone will be looking after her in the ward..., my daughter has not seen a Ruskin midwife at all and none of the other midwifes seen to know what they are doing. 2 lots of my daughters medication was missed today and when she asked was told you have already had it and it's been signed off which was very wrong, picked this point up with her midwife to be told I'm sorry but we are very busy and I have 8 other patients to look after, not very good when you go to look for her a few mins later and she is in the office laughing and joking on her phone. Also last night 6 hours after c section my daughter was in the bathroom lost lots of blood and had to pull the red cord, nurse came in and said " oh I thought you fainted" and walked out, my daughter had to say I need help please. Which anyone with a bit of common sense would of know, very slap dash midwifes and would definitely not recommend. Such a big shame that we have spent months in neuro with the same daughter having a brain tumour removed and couldn't not fort them in any way, staff even came in on there day off ... summing up maternity would not like my daughter to ever come back here for maternity care which is a shame as the care she received from the Ruskin nurses during pregnancy was brilliant... William gilliatt ward short staffed or not you need to get your game together and step up a bit!
