"Doctors phone relatives to ask patient..."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

What I liked

Only the piano on the ground floor. At least when you play it you get information from it, even if its music, more then what you get from the staff.

What could be improved

More patient interaction and patient notes rather then ringing up relatives and hoping for the best. More interaction with each other and more staffing levels. More effort needed on more nursing stations. Which mostly seem very vacant. Doctors more on the ball.

Anything else?

When Dad was in there, again. I got 2 calls from 2 different doctors asking me, what was wrong with Dad? What meds was he on? His complete medical history? I could not believe my ears. First the care home when they rang me and said my Dad had been taken to hospital they sent over all his records. Plus, Dad was only in same hospital month earlier had hip operation.

When I questioned doctor on checking on the computer for patient records, she informed me that they don't have this facility in A an E. She was asking me every single detail about my Dads health. It was very incompetent and I felt it should be her telling relatives what is wrong with patient, not her hoping for the best and hoping that relatives can tell her everything.

Is this laziness, or just plain incompetence? Does not give much faith at all.

Very poor hospital in my opinion. Lack of information if any at all. Cant find any staff to ask anything to either. Then you wait and wait and no one comes to give us information on my Dad and again I am chasing around the ward trying to find some one. Then they say, they dont know they are not dealing with that ward and go and find some one else.
