What I liked
My 79 year old mum was admitted as an emergency and needed major abdominal surgery, staying in hospital for 10 days, firstly on ward 28 and then on ward 19. All the investigations/treatments were done in a timely manner and all the doctors explained the care/treatment options very well. I'd like to particularly thank the gynaecology registrar who is extremely good at their job, and has a caring bedside manner. The nursing staff on both wards were very good and explained procedures/care when asked.
What could be improved
Well done Scunthorpe for the improvement in the communication, appropriate invesigations and treatment! I just hope this is reflected throughout the Trust, not just on the surgical wards. Both wards were kept very clean, and handwashing/gel was evident throughout.
"Good experience!"
