"Are all doctors so unfriendly?"

About: Munro Medical Centre

The reception staff and nurses at this surgery are usually friendly and helpful, however I have yet to find a nice GP.

The GP I saw today was cold, unfriendly, patronising and dismissive. No one likes to visit the doctors as it is and after today's experience I will be even less likely to do so. My appointment was 30 mins late, there was no explanation or apology, and I was then made to feel like I was completely wasting their time. I left feeling belittled and frustrated, which is never a nice thing.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. As you may be aware, there is extreme demand on GP appointments, however a wait of 30 minutes is unusual and we would like to apologise that you were kept waiting so long - the doctor concerned would have been busy helping other patients in need during that time.

You say "I have yet to find a nice GP". The practice operates a personal list system so that for routine appointments you book with your own GP. If you would like to change your GP, you have the opportunity to do so. If you ring and need to be seen the same day, and need to see the doctor, you will be seen by the duty doctor, who usually won't be your own doctor and may well be under time pressure and running late. They will be happy to deal with the problem that was urgent for that day. In general, if you have long term medical problems you are better planning ahead and waiting a little time to see your own doctor, who will have a greater awareness of your overall situation.
