About: Leighton Hospital

What I liked

Having never been an in-patient before and having been diagnosed with Bowel cancer I was understandably a little nervous about what to expect. Throughout my stay at Leighton I was treated with great care and support by my Surgical team, ward nursing staff and later by the Support Team of Stoma Nurses.

My treatment was always explained to me and at all times I felt that I was aware of what was happening and why.

I cannot think of anyway in which my treatment and/or treatment could have been improved.

What could be improved

As far as I am concerned there is no way that the first class treatment I received could be improved upon.

Anything else?

It was most re-assuring that both ward staff and later the specialist team of Stoma nurses would all have the time to talk to me about my treatment, progress and most especially when things did not go entirely as expected. This helped me to both understand and cope with any stresses associated with my surgery and my recovery in general.
