About: University Hospital Wishaw / Neurology

(as a service user),

I recently transferred my care from the Queen Elizabeth hospital to Wishaw for convenience along with continuity of care.

I have been attending Dr McDougall for approximately 1 year now and have full trust in the care he provides. I appreciate that my opinions are taken into account when planning my care.

I would like him to realise that his commitment through these difficult times within neurology is gratefully appreciated.

I can only apologise for the delay in responding to your submission; a routine review of the system identified a few stories without response, yours being one of them.

I am really pleased to hear that you are very happy with the transfer of your care for continuity purposes from The Queen Elizabeth Hospital to Wishaw General Hospital and your patient experience with Dr MacDougall, Consultant Neurologist in particular. This will be shared with him everyone else in our Neurology Team in NHS Lanarkshire.

I have a great respect for the MS neurology team as until recently we had no specialised service, and being able to have care locally is easier when you have a debilitating fluctuating condition. It would be good if day case treatment was available as well but I guess we will have to watch this space, as they say,
