What I liked
The nurses I saw at my outpatient appointments were excellent.
What could be improved
1. The reception staff need to smile more, look welcoming and address clients by name, once they know what the name is. Spire obviously understands the importance of smiling because a smiling member of staff features on all the leaflets. However, on neither of the occasions on which I visited did the reception staff smile - at me or anyone else. Their main concern seemed to be finding out how people were going to pay. I suggest that an initial smile and a 'Good morning, how can I help you?' would go a long way.
2. Ensure that clients have access to a working loo. On one of my visits, the one loo in reception was 'out-of-order' and no alternative was offered. In a private establishment, this is just not good enough.
Anything else?
I suggest that Spire encourages its consultants to send results of scans/tests more promptly. I had to wait nearly two weeks for my results.
