What I liked

I was very impressed with the excellent reception given when we entered the maternity ward ready to give birth. Even though it was late at night and the staff were at the end of their evening shift, the receptionist was professional, attentive and had a great welcoming and empathetic style.

This style of kindness and attentiveness was continued throughout every stage of delivery, from the Midwifery Led Birthing Unit - through to the maternity ward and during the discharge procedure.

We really felt as though we were customers and not just another couple having a baby. well done L&D Hospital!

What could be improved

Shame we had to wait hours for the Pharnacy dept to open in order to get some essential medication. But we fed this back to staff who apologised and accepted responsibility that the drugs should have been pre-ordered and been available in the delivery suite.
