I had an accident recently and went to Kirkcaldy a and e to which was decided I have broken my wrist and need an op to fix this and sent home with a back plate cast and pain relief.
I then had to call the hospital on the Monday after not hearing anything regarding going in for this op. I needed increased pain relief due to the injury. I spoke to 4 different people before they discovered orthopaedic team would be calling that night and a really helpful nurse asked me to come in to get stronger pain relief.
I then had a call that night to go in to the Queen margaret the next morning at 8am. after sitting for 4 hours I was then told my op would not be taking place due to the emergency’s that had been in. I then agreed to come in yesterday at 8 am and due to the weather I called in to see if the opp would still be taking place and I was advised nothing is cancelled so we made the arduace journey to the hospital to then be turned away due to the surgeon not being in. We then made the same dangerous journey home to then not be able to get the car back to our house and I had to walk in the snow with my injury and abandoned the car far from the house. I then had a call to confirm that I have a new opp for tue to say I am fed up is an understatement as we would never have came out in a red weather warning today if we did not need to I just hope I get this fixed on tue as I can’t deal with the pain any longer.
