What I liked
Nurses were brilliant but consultants didn't tell me what was going on
What could be improved
I was originally admitted in January with suspected kidney stones, however the x rays didn't show these. I was discharged and referred for an ultra sound to check for gallstones. This appointment was in March when it was confirmed I had gallstones. This meant I had been referred to the incorrect consultant and was told I would need to go and get referred by my GP to the correct department. This meant the 18 week timescale for treatment started again. I had an appointment with the gastro department who confirmed I needed to have my gallbladder removed but that they wouldn't meet the 18 weeks from the 2nd referral. No one at the hospital wants to take responsibility for this and I feel I'm being penalised for not being diagnosed correctly in the first instance. I am now trying to change to an alternative hospital and have not once has any person at the hospital apologised for the delay in my treatment.
Anything else?
Remember that this is an environment for care not just a business
"Very frustrating"
