"It gave me great confidence in the NHS"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

What I liked

After a major operation I was tired and dopey. The ward staff were patient and very caring at all times. I have no wish to return to a hospital - ever - but I would feel confident about my after care at Eastbourne Hospital

What could be improved

My stay on the ward was too short to make any thing but an off the cuff comment; I was last an in patient in 1957 [in a different hospital] and I am certain that the food has improved since then! I am sure that preparing and distributing food to every ward to the standard of a Nigella Lawson dinner party for 8 is out of the question. The food that I was served was nourishing, hot to warm, because of the time that I took to eat it, and reasonably varied.
