I recently had a minor operation to remove a cancer from my scalp. As a result I had to visit the surgery twice a week to have the wound cleaned and dressed. What could have turned out an irksome process was made almost enjoyable. The receptionists organised a schedule to see nurses regularly and at once. The nurses, two in particular, were spot on in timings, care and dealing with my bizarre humour. I was greeted warmly on arrival. We discussed the state of the wound and actions to take to ensure rapid recovery. The outcome has been most successful. Deep thanks to all the surgery staff for identifying, referral, operating (one particular doctor and team) and for post operative care. I could not have been treated better. Could we please stop haranguing the NHS and look more to the brilliant, caring work carried out under very trying conditions at times. Well done to all concerned!!
