"Renal Unit has gone from strength to strength..."

About: Royal Derby Hospital / Nephrology

I have IgA nephropathy and have been both an outpatient and inpatient of the Renal Unit over more than 20 years and can honestly say that this department has gone from strength to strength over that time.

The care and attention you receive as a patient cannot to my mind be bettered. Appointments

are more often than not on time and the approach of the doctors and nursing staff is

friendly and professional and you will be treated very much as an individual.

I have now progressed onto home peritoneal dialysis and again the care is second to none.

This is handled by a small dedicated team who obviously enjoy working together and this reflects in the way that you are treated. Nothing is too much trouble and is explained in as much detail as you wish to have.

Care in the associated Renal Ward in which I have been an inpatient several times is also is of the highest possible order and the nursing and ancillary staff friendly and approachable.

I would have no qualms whatsoever recommending this department to friends and family.

Good afternoon

It was very kind of you to take the time to write to the hospital. I am pleased to hear that you had a positive experience and that you wish to express your grateful thanks to the Renal Unit and the peritoneal dialysis team.

We will make sure we pass your kind comments onto the Manager responsible for the department to share with the relevant staff.

Thank you again for taking the time to send in your compliment - it is appreciated.
