I had a Mirena IUS fitted at the Beckenham Beacon contraception clinic at the start of February 2018. My GP doesn't offer this service, so I had to do some online research to find a clinic near to my home. After speaking to them on the phone to check the procedure, I attended a drop-in clinic for an initial consultation. The nurse was very thorough and took a detailed history to make sure that I could make a well-informed decision about whether Mirena was the right choice for me. I booked in for a fitting a couple of weeks later. I have never been pregnant, so the fitting itself was uncomfortable, and I had period-type cramps for a couple of days afterwards. However, the team warned me about this, so I was prepared for the worst! I was very impressed with how efficiently the clinic ran, and the team who treated me could not have been more professional, friendly or considerate. I was very nervous, and they did everything they could to put me at ease and make sure I understood everything that was going on.
"The team could not have been more professional"
