"EPAU"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Maternity care

After the excellent care I have received in this department I felt the need to leave a review.

In November my husband and I sadly sufferered a missed miscarriage after thinking we couldn’t have children. This was the toughest thing we have ever dealt with and it is only with the support of three particular members of staff and team on epau we got though it. They could not have done more for us and were professional and supportive throughout, and it was clear to see they genuinely cared.

In the last few weeks we have been lucky enough to fall pregnant again, and again the team at epau could not have been better. It is such an anxious time for myself and husband, but again they are doing more than I could have hoped to monitor me and reassure me this pregnancy is going as it should. They have offered us reassurance scans and answered all my questions / fears (and there have been many!). They have truly eased our anxiety’s, and helped us again through a very worrying time.

I cannot thank the three members of staff, the sonographers and team on epau for all they have done for us over the last 4 months, in both happy and sad times, they have all treated us with the greatest compassion, support and been professional throughout. Thanks.

Good Morning,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of EPAU. I am sorry to hear about your loss in November; this must have been a very difficult time for both you and your husband. It is lovely to read that during this tough time the support of the staff on EPAU helped you with their professionalism and care.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I understand that this must be an anxious time for you and your husband and it is again pleasing to read that all staff within the EPAU have offered you reassurance and eased this anxiety.

I will ensure this feedback is shared amongst the EPAU team so they can see how their compassion, support and professionalism has helped you throughout your journey.

If you would be interested in participating in our Patient Stories Programme I would love to hear from you. This allows the department and staff within the Organisation the time to view your experience through your eyes allowing them to learn from this to understand how actions can affect and/or help a patients experience. If you are interested I would be delighted to hear from you:
