What I liked
The psych team were called out of hours for me, although again it took 4 hours before I could see them. However they were very good. The paramedics were very friendly and came to talk to me after bringing in another patient - and in fact they sorted out extra dressings for my cuts.
What could be improved
I arrived in A&E by ambulance at 00:30am having sustained deep cuts to my arms and legs. I was put into a cubicle with my friend with no privacy whatsoever. The dressings on my arms quickly became blood soaked and I had to ask a member of staff to put another dressing on when I realised the blood was leaking through to my jeans. I waited four hours before being seen, despite A&E not seeming to be too busy. It transpired that I needed stitches and the wound was bleeding constantly for these four hours with little care from the nurses. I was very distressed and upset and felt almost as if I was being put on public show for the rest of the patients in A&E as again, there was no privacy in my 'cubicle'. There was next to no information give the entire time I was there, just a nurse coming along every couple of hours to check my blood pressure.
"Not brilliant."
