"surgery going downhill"

About: The Springhead Medical Centre

What once was an excellent gp service, with the noble status of being the first practice in Hull with a five star rating, since selling out has now gone downhill, is just the same as the other mediocre surgeries, where receptionists ask what the problem is and then tell you they have no appointments available and to call back the following day and there still won't be any available appointments, where as previously there was always an appointment, without being asked what the problem was. Surgeries are no longer surgeries run by doctors, they are business centres run by administrators with over inflated egos. The five star rating of excellence will very soon be a distant memory for this surgery. Such a shame.

We are sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience in trying to contact us.

This is because of holiday, maternity leave and flu season which is making us much more busy than normal.

Our Receptionists when they ask about the problem are not trying to diagnose you, they are simply trying to get a better idea of the problem so they can direct you to the best person to help. If you are struggling to get through on the phone please try booking online or using our eConsult service.

Please can we reassure you that the practice has not sold out or been taken over by "big business" - we are just really busy

Our GP's are still here and still running the surgery, contrary to what you may believe or been told we have not been "taken over".

Springhead Medical and the GP's have joined the Modality Partnership as Partners - it is not a private company

Our GP's have not been replaced by an army of Administrators and "pen pushers" - in fact the same, small number of admin and reception staff who have always worked here are still here.

We joined Modality to help us manage ever increasing demands on us as a practice, in restricted premises and ever reducing resources.

Please bare with us - hopefully staff will be returning from leave etc soon
