"Wigan Aspull Ward 5* Care"

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

This last week due to not taking care of my self i found i needed the help of the NHS Wigan

from the moment in booked in at A&E reception the lady taking my details was concerned that i should have been there sooner so she asked me to wait and she would get things moving. once my turn came along the team took me in and assessed me and very quickly my treatment and care started nurses and doctors ensuring that i was as well as i possibly could be and as comfortable as they could possibly make me making every effort to get me onto a hospital wing in preparation for surgery the next day,

once on the Aspull ward within minutes the perfect ladies whom work so hard were around me explaining what was going to happen ensuring i was comfortable and calm, the time came for me to be taken down to surgery a young man came to collect me and explained all what was going to happen again settling my mind.

surgery all went well and before long i was back on the ward immediately the ward team were on me ensuring i was comfortable and for the next 5 days during my stay the care i received was of the highest standard every moment of my stay was without fault , The NHS gets some bad press these days well That is the company name not the people whom look after us these ladies and gentlemen are truly amazing.

every morning the day started with our very own Pink Ladies ensuring that the ward was spotless a warm good morning and witty conversation what better way to come around from the morning blues closely followed by the team bringing our morning brew and breakfast the first visit of four that day thank you the food was amazing.

Then well where do i start with the nurses and support team that spent the next 12 hours on each shift looking after me and all the patients in our ward to say they are an incredible group of ladies would be an understatement i watched as each and everyone of theses ladies worked tirelessly to keep all the poorly people in their care comfortable and dignified in some very extreme situation never once complaining one man in our ward needed lots of care and each and every nurse that found she had a moment to spare came to see him if only to give his hand a gentle squeeze letting him know he was not alone.

At this point i would like to list the names of the special people who care for us each time we need help in our lowest moments.

I hope this review is seen by many and that it inspires more to make an effort just to say thank you to those who tirelessly look after all of us in our times of need.

so here is mine Thank You x

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know of your recent stay in Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in particular your time on Aspull Ward. Your posting is truly a shining example of the care that the staff here at the Trust strive to provide to our patients throughout their treatment and care. It will be my pleasure to share this with the A&E staff, the Division of Specialist Services, the nursing staff, the Domestic Staff and Catering Team. May I take this opportunity to wish you well in your continued recovery. Kind regards
