I recently had to undergo a colonoscopy which, as you might imagine, is somewhat nerve-racking.
However, the anticipation was far worse than the experience as all the staff in the endoscopy suite were excellent, showing calmness and consideration every step of the way.
This procedure if offered with sedation for those who prefer it but as I had to drive I underwent the procedure without it.
Yes, it is somewhat uncomfortable at certain points but by no means unbearable and because I took this decision there was no residual effects of sedation afterwards.
A special thanks goes to two members of staff, both of whom made the experience much less fraught then I anticipated but I should stress that everyone in the department with whom I had contact were, without exception, pleasant, helpful and considerate so I would definitely recommend this department to anyone undergoing any form of endoscopy.
"Excellent endoscopy experience"
