"You all made me feel so much better"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

Had a mishap at home had   fallen and hurt my head, felt sore but ok. after a couple of days of constant headaches contacted NHS 24. The call handler could not have been nicer lovely lady. The nurse called me back she too was kind patient and understanding and recommended I went to A and E at BGH. I didn’t have to wait long and seen by a triage nurse I could not have asked for better treatment. I was then seen by a very kind doctor who thoroughly examined me and had an X-ray all done very efficiently and courteously. My X-ray was clear and given information if symptoms got worse. In these days of constant criticism of our NHS I feel compelled to express my gratitude to all those involved Thankyou all very much   You all made me feel so much better.

Hi Moran

Thanks for your feedback via Care Opinion. Sorry to learn you had a mishap, injuring your head. I am glad to hear though that all has checked out ok and that you appear to be on the mend.

How nice of you to take the time to thank the staff members involved in your care. I will ensure your complimentary feedback is shared more widely within NHS 24, however should you care to contact me directly, then I would be able to identify the Call Handler and Nurse who managed your call. I am sure they would be delighted with your kind comments on their interpersonal skills. I can be contacted at patientaffairs@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk or on 0141 337 4582.

I am sure my colleagues within NHS Borders will be equally delighted with your comments.

I do wish you well and hope any future mishaps can be avoided!

With kind regards

Shona

Hello Moran,

Thank you for getting in touch to express your gratitute for the care you received in our ED department.

I will pass on your comments to the team, who are always very pleased to receive feedback (good or not so!) from patients regarding how they were treated.

Our ED staff try hard to ensure that patients receive the care they need in a timely and sensitive way and it seems from you post that in your case this was achieved.

Like Shona, I hope you avoid future mishaps and are enjoying good health.

Kind regards.

Ed
