What could be improved

Or in other words...what I didn't like.

Firstly, the department that I went to was A&E, so bearing in mind that the staff deal with accidents and emergencies, you would think that they would show some care.

I arrived at A&E at about 3.40pm, and the first difficulty was knowing where to go. There were no signs or directions in the building and I didn't know which desk to approach. I soon approached a desk and asked one of the female staff if this is where I report to. But before I could even finish my sentence she shouted "Whats wrong wif ya!".

Now before I carry on, maybe I should tell you that the desk and the patient waiting area are in the same room, so you can probable imaging that i was just a tad embarrassed when I tried to tell her (very discretely) that I had been experiencing rectal bleeding for two days and that I had severe back and leg pain due to cysts found in my pelvic area. (By the way...the room was quite full).

After more whispering from me and shouting from her, she gave me a sheet and told me to sit down. This is when I encountered the second problem... hygiene. The once creme colored chairs where no longer creme colored chairs, but more blacky, browny, cream coloured chairs, not to mention uncomfortable. One table slash footstool was broken, and the air smelt like stale, warm urine.

I guess the saying "time fly's when your having fun" is true, because time was defiantly not flying.

I watched the same female receptionist shout commaands to other patients. I even learned the names of 3 people, their address, why they where there, thier mobile and home number and email. Now imagine if I was a burglar, I have all thier details and I know that there not at do the math.

I was finaly seen by the 1st doctor at 4.40 and by the second doctor at 6.30 who prescribed me a drug. If I had known that this would be the outcome, I would have gone to my GP, maybe wait 5 minutes max, got the same drug and gone home.

This experience was... insulting

Anything else?

Don't believe all those hospital statistics where they try and convince you that 99% of patients had a good experience... you really have to experience it 1st hand to know that its a lie. Seeing is believing. For example, when I wrote this feedback, only 9 people out of 28 would recommend this hospital to a friend. That means approximately, two thirds were disappointed.
