Waited over 64 minutes for a blood test at Hillingdon Hospital though screen said the average waiting time 40 minutes, this is not the first time either.
There were 3 Phelbotomist working this time, but it was very slow, I think on average they were seeing 1 patient every 10 minutes, was tedious.
When you go into have your blood taken, I have never been greeted with a smile or, a good morning/afternoon, or even thank you for waiting, just no common courtesy, don't even get a goodbye or enjoy the rest of your day when bloods are taken, nor do I get 'are you feeling okay' when bloods are being taken, previously had a nerve hit which sent shooting pains down my arm when she was digging for a vein, when complained was told by the phelbotomist 'I've had that before, it hurts doesn't it' not even a sorry, just passed over to the phelbotomist next to me, who continued to take blood out of the arm that was hurt even though I didn't want it.
Feels very un-human and robotic in there.
I feel whoever manages or leads this department needs to retrain the staff to be more courteous and have better time management, and on how to interact more warmly to the people they are coming in contact and to deal with comments about bad practice more professionally.
Compared to other hospitals where I have had bloods taken, this place is very substandard, can't even get a cup of water without moving people from their seats. I also overheard conversations from other people waiting feeling very disgruntled over such waiting times and the service, people where even standing as thier was not enough seats.
"Phlebotomy ridiculous waiting times and robotic..."
