About: John Radcliffe Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted to the angiography suite at the John Radcliffe Hospitalfor a procedure as a day patient. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and everything was extremely pristine.

What could be improved

I am very deaf wearing bilateral hearing aids. Although I made this very plain at the beginning, I felt that most of the time it was forgotten. . Also I was not told the full extent of my procedure(, as they had a conference about my case just before hand,) until I was actually lying on the operating table. This should have been discussed with me beforehand, as I was feeling very Sonervous and not able to hear properly.

So please, more training for staff regarding the handling of deaf people.

Anything else?

Apart from poor communication re my deafness, I am absolutely satisfied with all aspects of my day at the John Radcliffe. In fact I have been both an in patient and outpatient at this hospital in the cardiology department fot the past ten years, and apart from the subject of my deafness, I cannot fault such a wonderful establishment.
