About: Royal Free Hospital

What I liked

my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in the clinic at 12 pm she was told to have a biopsy on both breasts that day but there was no beds on any of the wards for her to go after she had it done/ and to stay the night . also after the shocking news just 2 hours before learning that my mum had breast cancer ,

we had to wait in the breast clinic only to be told the clinc was closed and we would have to be moved somewere else so we were shunted like cattle to sit in the outpatients department with people in the liver clinic , thank god i had a good cry earlier on or everyone would have been looking .then after siting there all day and in shock , the nurse said oh there is no bed but we will try to get you a bed befor your biopsy at 4 pm .

my mum aged 76 yrs old frail and prevoiulsy had a stroke in 2008 and me sat in that liver clinic from 12 pm untill 4 pm then a nurse showed up and said youve got to go for your biopsy and rushed her onto a side room in the gynacolgy ward . the nurse in the ward was impatient shouting at my mum to take her skirt off to put the hospital gown on . then my mum went off for her biopsy she was finally given a bed .

the next morning i came in she was freezing cold the air conditong over her bed was not workin . the nurses were horrible , didnt offer her a blanket , left the caula in her arm , didnt change her dressing , i had to ask them to and to take the canula out .the nurse did not speak had no idea who she was. another nurse in the ward shouted in my face when i politly asked her a question. they lost my mothers records then found them thrown in a carrier bag .gave her they wrong food even though she ticked what she wanted . they didnt even want to know she was there they didnt look up from their computer when you asked them a question the experience she had in that ward was inhumane and im very angry how dare they call themselfs nurses awful awful hospital used to be ok . i hope oneday someone will treat them like that .

What could be improved

get decent nurses for a start , teach them to be a bit more compassonate .dont be a nurse if you dont know how to treat people .

Anything else?

i will be writing to the cheif ex of the hospital to complain .not that it will properply make any diffrence im emigrating out of this country as soon as i get the chance.
