What I liked
Leaving the hospital.
What could be improved
Everything. However, in my inpatient experience, the Staff Nurses and Health Care Assistants are generally excellent. They work hard, are over-worked, under-valued. Due to what is expected of them, they spend very little time with the patient - which is out of their control.
Sisters and Matrons are nowhere to be seen.
Doctors and consultants are rarely seen and when they do see you they are in a rush and are generally poorly prepared.
Don't be ill in the hospital over a weekend - try finding a doctor and your consultant then!
The PALS service is appalling. I had to explain what the 'P' stood for (i.e. Patient).
"Shocking."
