I waited for almost two hours for a blood test this morning, from 10.00 am until 11.45 am. When finally seen, the phlebologist was standing whilst taking my blood, digging painfully and unnecessarily into the vein with the needle. I've never had experienced such practice before. When I've spoken to the Receptionist, I was told by her that the phlebologist was a locum. From my point of view, this does not excuse the ridiculous waiting time and what I believe to be poor practice.
The permanent phlebologist was on leave today. He is a competent practitioner.
