What I liked
I was treated like the Queen throughout my stay on Elm ward. I was very frightened and as well as wonderful reassurance from the Anaesthetist they allowed my partner to stay with me until I went for the Operation at 8.30am. I was a long time in Theatre as apparently I was bleeding but I have a close friend who works in the hospital and they were allowed to come and see me when I returned to the ward and they helped me wash my face and put on clean night clothes. The nurses were very kind and I got the best piece of advice from a Health Care Assistant who told me how important my exercises were when I got home. They didn't want to see me again with more problems - I am still doing them!
The surgeons and anaesthetic team were brilliant and popped in to see me the next day. I felt cosseted.
What could be improved
The night staff nurse didn't seem to know much about me but was happy to explain things when I asked.
Anything else?
Keep up the good work.
