"A1 care at a difficult time"

About: Kettering General Hospital

What I liked

I have recently spent 4 four days in K.G.H. Deene ward A undergoing surgery for bowel cancer. I just want to say that the service & care that I have received commencing in the bowel screening centre to being discharged from "Deene A" has been outstanding, my wife & I were kept informed at all times of what was going to happen, every detail was explained & the staff concerned were all caring, sympathetic & always available for questions/queries.

My stay in Deene A ward was made so much easier by the caring & attentive staff on every shift & level, I have also made my feelings known to the ward manager, they all deserve a pat on the back.

I would also like to make a special mention about the registrar who was working with my consultant, he took the trouble to telephone my wife whilst I was in recovery after theatre to tell her how the operation went which was a huge help to her.

I'm sorry to go on a bit but so many people are quick to post complaints that I felt compelled to congratulate you all.

Keep up the good work & thank you all again.

kind regards

David Findley

Thank you very much for your kind comments regarding your recent stay on Deene A ward. It is encouraging to hear that your experience was a positive one. Kettering General Hospital is consistently trying to improve the patient experience and it is only with feedback that we can know what differences we are making.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to write. I will pass your comments onto all the staff involved in your care and I know it will be very much appreciated.

Jo Milton

Ward Manager
