What I liked

I was admitted to the Acute Stroke Ward at Watford as an emergency although it transpired later that I had not had a stroke, but that I had a rare blood disease, diagnosed by a consultant as TTP. Although this diagnosis proved incorrect all the symptoms were compatible and the subsequent treatment based on this diagnosis probably saved my life. I found the treatment at Watford Hospital generally, the nursing staff on the Acute Stroke Ward and, particularly the care of the consultant, to be exceptionally good. I was transferred as an emergency to St Thomas' Hospital London two days after admittance.

What could be improved

The only criticism was that it was a mixed bed ward. Everything else to do with my care and treatment was first class.
