What I liked

I have been a cardiac patient at St. Marks for over 10 years now and have had consultations at the Cardiology Deptt. at Level 9 almost every year as a follow-up to my triple bypass and two angioplasty interventions. Now as I approach my 70th birthday, it is indeed with an awesome feeling of miracle that I am fully active participating in creative writings and enjoyable family celebrations. My wife and I are totally convinced that the brilliant Consultants and the dedicated support teams are to be given the due credit. They have not only proved their professional competence of the highest degree, my Consultants have always showed me that they cared and they shared my visible concerns - being a heart patient since July, 1986- a veteran triple bypass-holder that still worked due to the exceedingly capable drugs-management of my condition, throughout these long years.

I am keeping so fit , even my wife does not dispute that, as to stake a claim as the most relaxed and smiling 70 something. I also believe the huge criss-cross of the side-effects of around 8 drugs is having its own hitherto unknown side-effect of keeping the threat of Alzheimer's at bay . Well ,that's a thought for a new research!. .

My wife and I are most grateful for the human touch we always felt while visiting Northwick/ St.Marks Hospitals and for the quality of life our good doctors there brought our way.

e feel sad that we do not sometime see the bigger picture and tear down that is basically good and helpful. However, the final proof that my Consultants have had huge success with this somewhat garrulous patient is that they have managed to keep me away from them and the hospital over the last 3 years or so. I wish the Hospital all success and I wish all the doctors and others to continue to put their healing touch to all those who come in pain and agony..
