When my 92 year old aunt was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia we did not expect things to go through way they did. After a heart attack post admission and pulmonary oedema things deteriorated for her and she sadly passed away 9 days later.
My aunt was brought to the hospital by 2 lovely Paramedics (Ann & Laura) and was admitted to A&E, then the ECU and finally Wd 4.
The CSW's were all really nice and helpful especially Tracey who we witnessed do a few things for her that was very much appreciated and very thoughtful. The cups of tea and coffee provided for the family through the night, helped keep us going.
The Staff Nurses, Laura, Dawn, Lori, Marion, Graeme, Sharon, Ann-Marie and the staff who's names we didn't catch, were all very kind, caring and attentive to her needs. Nothing was a bother for them help and when asked for assistance they were on the case promptly.
The Dr's, Neil, Emma, Emily, Niamh and the rest of the clinical team who attended to her (you guys will know who you are) demonstrated an excellent set of skills whilst we were there and did their very best to reassure and treat my aunt.
This ward/team is under the care of Charge Nurse Gary who has in my opinion excellent staff.
Once again a big THANK YOU to each and everyone of you. The outcome was very sad for us as a family, however, your care, kindness and attentiveness made this journey that bit easier.
Genuinely and wholeheartedly please keep up the good work.
