I was booked for a day care operation on the above date. On admission I was greeted by the reception staff and then taken to the department for pre op to prepare for the procedure. I was interviewed by the nurse and then by the anaesthetist both of whom were very kind and keen to explain what was to be done. I was very impressed by the lovely warm operating table, very cosy and all the staff were kind. After the op. I was in recovery some time as I was reluctant to wake up but again every one was kind and reassuring. As a retired nurse I was impressed by the calm and confident atmosphere in the recovery room. Once transferred to the ward again I was given excellent care by my nurse. She made sure I was comfortable, warm and pain free. She provided flavoured sachets to add to the water, tissues. I could not have had better care.
The entire atmosphere at Frimley is of calm competence, it is a hospital which is clean, efficient and caring, one of the most impressive aspects was the quiet way staff go about their duties, on enquiringly from the nurse in the morning if they had had a quiet night she smiled and said "no" there had been 5 admissions and they had been very busy, though I had been awake part of the night ( due to my long sleep in recovery) I had not heard any disturbance and my fellow patients had slept peacefully. Very impressive! When I as. Volunteer used to interview discharched patients, their main complaint was noisy nights.
I cannot praise all the staff at Frimley highly enough,I am so fortunate to live. In its area
Thank you to the team and the stall of the Day Unit plus all the catering, cleaning and service staff. You all have reason to be so proud of. fab Frimley.
