About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

What I liked

I've been in hospital a few times in 2010. In July 2010, i was in for a week, on surgical reciving unit, where i was treated very kindly. One paticular nurse, and one paticular health assistant were the best i've come across. They made the week so much easier, if more staff were like them everyone would be happy! The cleaners on this ward, also seem very friendly and helpful! The same canno't be said for the consultant's. I feel that they are rude and abnoxious and that you are just a number to them. Following an operation i was taken to tolgus ward, where my treatment was completely changed. I was left laying there after an operation in loads of pain just crying, no nurse had come to see me for four hours. In november 2010 i was admitted to the A&E department, which suprisingly although it was busy, i was treated nicely and quickly. I was then transfered to tolgus ward, by this time it had changed to gynaecology..the staff were amazing, i was given a side bedroom. Which helped me cope with what i was going through. I also met a student nurse or midwife can't remember which one. She was very nice and supportive.

What could be improved

SRU consultants could atleast pretend they care!
